Winchester Cocktail Week mixes things up with new creative partner The Typeface Group.
The annual celebration of expertly crafted cocktails is set to return to Winchester with Basingstoke marketing agency The Typeface Group shaking things up as the newly appointed creative partner.
In preparation for the most ambitious cocktail week to date, organisers of the popular event, Spirits Envoy, have joined forces with The Typeface Group. The agency, based in Basing View, will look after the branding, communications and promotion for Winchester Cocktail Week 2019.
Winchester Cocktail Week 2019 runs from 4-10 February and promises an exquisite range of drinking experiences and exclusive events. The Typeface Group have been selected to refresh the website, photography, digital marketing and graphic design. The agency will also be helping to coordinate the launch event at Hotel du Vin, which will pay homage to the art of mixology.
Polly Buckland, Managing Director of The Typeface Group and Director Natalie Weaving were invited to Cabinet Rooms in Jewry Street by owner Gary Whiter for a celebratory cocktail-making masterclass. This helped to develop Polly and Natalie’s technical understanding of what just goes into creating that perfect tipple.
Polly Buckland said: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Winchester Cocktail Week as their creative partner. Cocktails are truly having a renaissance as something to be sipped and savoured. With Gary’s help, we learnt that there really is an art to creating the perfect cocktail and this initiative is about really celebrating that.
We look forward to breathing life and colour into the events for Winchester Cocktail Week 2019 with the skills and experience that the Typeface team can bring to the table.”
Winchester Cocktail Week is currently in its fourth year. It brings a range of events, workshops and special promotions to the Hampshire city. It aims to educate people on the skill behind both cocktails and mocktails and to encourage people to try something new, whilst drinking responsibly.
It is the brainchild of Gary Whiter, owner of Spirits Envoy. He set up the Winchester Cocktail Week initiative with the support of Winchester BID in 2016 so residents and visitors in Hampshire could discover new drinking experiences and venues on their doorstep.
Gary Whiter said: “Having seen the brilliant work The Typeface Group did over the summer to help promote independent businesses in Winchester, we’re thrilled that they’ve agreed to help us shake things up in the city in 2019. We’re confident they will bring their signature energy, creative vibrancy and marketing expertise to the party and help us make this fourth Winchester Cocktail Week one to remember.”
Cocktail fans can take advantage of the special offers running throughout the week by pre-purchasing wristbands, which will give them access to a range of discounts and events.
